Descendant [Astro*Index]

The point on the celestial sphere opposite the ascendant; sometimes refers to the region of the horoscope from 25° above the descendant point to 5° below it.

Descendant [Prima]

As the ascendant's polar opposite (the descendant is always 180° from the ascendant), the descendant is the point where the sun is positioned at sunset. The descendant of a birth chart represents awareness of others — polarizing the ascendant's quality of self-awareness. It defines the individual's approach to interpersonal relationships and to relationships in general.

Descendant [Munkasey M.]

A sensitive point in the horoscope, which is the oppositepoint from the Ascendant. That point which is 180 degrees in zodiacal longitude from the Ascendant.

Descendant [DeVore]

The opposite point to the Ascendant (q.v.). The cusp of the 7th house. The western angle. Loosely applied to the whole of the seventh house.
