T Associations [Astro*Index]

These are groups or clusters of very young stars that, by galactic standards, are very near to our Sun. They are loose groups of stars at distances from about 100 to 1000 parsecs from the Sun. Found near clouds of interstellar dust, these stars help bridge the gap between protostars and the younger stars. They are strong sources of infrared radiation.
