His 8 books, written in elegant Latin, summarize the knowledge of Greek medicine. He includes material on tonsillectomy, heart attacks, insanity, dentistry, cataracts, and introduced numerous anatomical terms which are still used today. The nickname taken by Paracelsus is a slur, based on the name of Celsus.
