Tibetan Astrology: The Most Comprehensive Program of its Kind
Astrologer Michael Erlewine has been studying and practicing Tibetan Buddhism since the early 1970s. He has made two pilgrimages to Tibet, can read Tibetan script, and has studied with many learnéd lamas of the Karma Kagyu lineage. Erlewine authored the first program on Tibetan astrology many years ago, and has been director of a dharma center since the early 1980s. He has produced dozens of important practice sadhanas and texts.
Tibetan Buddhism in the West has been growing rapidly, and, along with it, an interest in Tibetan methods of astrology and healing. Very little has been written of Tibetan astrology, and much less has been programmed. Here, in a single program, are the major techniques used by Tibetan lamas of all lineages. If you are a beginner in this subject, the various techniques presented here are set forth in an easy-to-use manner. This quite complex topic is made easier by the inclusion of a wide variety of textual interpretations and graphic cards, all illustrating various techniques. If you are a more advanced practitioner, you will appreciate that, built into the program, is a complete practice calendar formatted along the lines of the familiar monthly calendar used in the West. The option of adding Buddhist festival dates and/or saint days, of your choosing, is another beneficial feature.
