Natal Interpretation
This is the Horoscope natal interpretation for Louisa May Alcott.
PART ONE: THE INNER YOU
In Part One of the interpretations you will read two sections concerned with your individual traits.
The first section describes your ego (sun), emotional make-up (moon), learning and intellectual orientation (Mercury), relationships and sociability (Venus), and the expression and focus of your physical energy (Mars).
The second section describes how well you deal internally with the external situations that you experience in life. Your capacity for happiness (Jupiter), ability to tolerate restrictions and frustrations (Saturn), how you are associated with or relate to new or innovative ideas and methods, and radical ideas and events that upset the status quo (Uranus), how you are associated with or affected by public ideals, morality, and spirituality (Neptune), and how you are associated with or affected by public policies toward crime, toward the power of government and industry, and toward exploration, development, conservation and distribution of natural resources (Pluto).
SUN
The sun rules will power and ego. It is the core of your potential and uniqueness as an individual; who you are and what you are about. It represents the main direction and focus you want your life to take, and your determination to accomplish what you set out to do. It is your personal honesty and integrity, and the ability to command respect and authority, to impress and influence others.
SUN in SAGITTARIUS
As the ninth sign of the zodiac, Sagittarius represents the ninth stage in the evolution of man and his place in the universe. As Scorpio seeks to understand and control with emotional power, Sagittarius seeks to understand and control with knowledge. Most Sagittarians have an intellectual curiosity that covers a wide range of subjects. Never try to present Sagittarians with facts because they already have an unlimited supply which they gladly recite in rapid succession. They become bored and restless when surrounded by people or circumstances in which they have no interest. At such times, they find ways to disappear physically or mentally. They would rather learn things on their own through travel and experience than endure structured classroom environments and routine work assignments. However, given opportunities to broaden their knowledge and gain experience in the world on their own, they become excellent teachers and administrators in the very type of educational system they once found so restricting.
Sagittarians readily adapt to change. This trait is a strength because it is a survival mechanism, and a weakness because it makes them vulnerable to the demands and influence of other people. One of their greatest facilities for adapting to change is making home wherever they happen to be. The astrological symbols for Sagittarius are the hunter (archer) and the centaur, the mythical half man and half horse. They represent the Sagittarian search for collecting and disseminating truth and knowledge as well as their constant search for new ideas and new adventures. They are usually quite talkative and, as a rule, do not hesitate to give their honest opinions, a gesture which seems tactless at times though it is rarely their intention to be cruel. They have a ready wit and appreciate the humor even in grim situations.
Sagittarians react physically to everything they experience in life. Before they assess the practicality or worth of what they are doing, before they sort out their true emotions, and before they take time to reason things out intellectually, they have a tendency to shoot first and ask questions later. Communication-oriented Sagittarians are forever running around with energy and enthusiasm. They are independent and hard to pin down for long, and indeed, this is the sign of the bachelor. In one way or another even married Sagittarians seek to maintain some aspect of personal independence.
Jupiter, planet of bountiful fortunes and good luck, rules Sagittarians. As a rule, most of them have generous natures and friendly, optimistic personalities. Natural politicians, they are interested in knowing everyone and in going everywhere. For the true Sagittarian personality, life is something to be enjoyed every day. Addicted to all the good things in life, they know how to get maximum enjoyment from them. Unfortunately too much of a good thing can be ruinous, and prudence is a difficult trait for most Sagittarians to acquire. The philosophy that "more is better" describes their tendency for overdoing, a tendency that can result in some negative situations. Being overly spiritual or too philosophical, for example, they get too far out of touch with the real world. Making overblown efforts to be prudent in one area, they can still manage to bankrupt themselves by overindulging in other areas. Their attempt to be prudent can get so far out of line, that they turn into a miser.
Sagittarians are enthusiastic sportsmen. They enjoy physically challenging endeavors of all kinds. Archery, jogging, hang gliding, sailing, and fishing (especially for big sport fish such as sword fish or blue marlin) are favorite activities. One of the biggest challenges to overcome may be the battle of the bulge when their fondness for great quantities of food and drink finally catches up with them. They are natural gamblers and risk-takers, and usually have the good fortune to come out on the winning side of wagers, especially when they try their luck at horse or dog racing. They love music, art, dance, and drama (theater) and many of them have considerable talent in these areas.
Sagittarian colors are maroon, tan, navy, orange, and cobalt blue. Vulnerable parts of the body are the thighs, hips, and, to some extent, the feet. Their physical complaints are apt to be the result of unrestricted diets or an overly indulgent pursuit of other pleasures. The ancients associated the ruby with Sagittarius, while modern astrologers gives this sign the turquoise. The Sagittarian's highly adaptable, somewhat dual-natured personality can easily associate itself with both gems. Because Sagittarius is associated with bigness in general, flowers for this sign include the large blooms such as huge mums, hydrangeas, dahlias, and peonies.
MOON
The moon rules desire as opposed to ego, need as opposed to expediency or reason. It describes how you feel about yourself, how you handle relationships, and how you emotionally respond to situations and experiences. It describes the flow of your daily functions; physical, emotional, and mental. The moon represents your residence and domestic environment. It rules babies and young children, your mother and other important females in your life.
MOON in AQUARIUS
Those born with the moon in an Air sign usually respond to situations in a way they think should fit the facts, that is, they act in a way they think others expect them to act, or they imitate the same behavior as others. This gives them the appearance of emotional coolness or non-involvement. Before turning a situation into a physical experience, and before considering the stability or practicality of the thing, or even how they may really feel about it, they tend to do and say what seems appropriate as if it were not really happening to them. In spite of what appears to be their analytical detachment, most of them are loving and loyal in relationships. As lunar Air sign personalities, those with moon in Aquarius can be very sympathetic without being sentimental. Rarely beset with moodiness themselves, they often fail to pay attention to it in others, giving the impression they don't care. Idealistic, optimistic and friendly, they are unbiased and liberal in their treatment of people in general. Highly social, they attract friends and acquaintances from all walks of life, social and cultural backgrounds. They have difficulty focusing attention on just one person. As far as they are concerned "the more the merrier". Despite whatever eccentricity shows up in their personality, they are emotionally stable. Something in their emotional make-up gives them remarkable ability to calm those who are mentally disturbed or hysterical. When disappointed or unhappy, they focus on their activities and chores with such aplomb that others may not even realize they are upset.
Aquarius moon personalities do not want to be rushed or forced into making an emotional commitment. Once they make a commitment to an idea, project or relationship, they are tenaciously loyal and dedicated. Strong individualism and an eccentric nature can make marriage difficult. Marriage or raising a family rarely changes their established way of thinking and doing things. Though remaining independent in opinions and attitudes, more often than not, their attitudes and opinions turn out to be pretty traditional.
Women with Aquarius moon are often better friends and companions to their children than traditional nurturing mothers. Their interest in business or social affairs can distract them from ordinary domestic life. They may experience sorrow and disappointment in female relationships. Men with Aquarius moon display little jealousy or possessiveness in romantic relationships, a tendency that is sometimes interpreted by their partners as lack of love. Pursuing ideals and mental endeavors are often more important to them than amassing material wealth.
MERCURY
Mercury indicates mental outlook, intellectual endeavors, the way you think and communicate. It represents ideas, methods, and information. It rules your hands and thus your manual dexterity and mechanical skills. Mercury also describes transportation; that is, how you get where you're going physically and mentally. Do you speed with all possible haste or amble along taking a few detours here and there?
MERCURY in SAGITTARIUS
Those with natal Mercury in Sagittarius have enthusiastic, adaptable intellects. Their interests are varied and they quickly learn what they want to know. If they don't have a natural inclination for a subject, or even for school in general, it is difficult for them to stay very long in the confining routine of formal education. Many of these individuals possess considerable gifts for mimicry and oratory. Very independent in their ideas and opinions, they learn best by traveling and circulating in various groups and in different places. When communicating opinions and ideas, they have a tendency to be very direct, sometimes to the point of what others consider tactless. They may be very spiritually oriented, and have a great fondness for art or politics. When it comes to learning and transportation, they can be found rushing from place to place, but they are also capable of ambling along, taking every interesting detour that catches their fancy.
VENUS
Venus rules your social attitudes and behavior, and your aesthetic tastes and inclinations. It is female relationships and social interactions at every level. Venus indicates your values. It describes romance, marriage and other partnerships, capacity for humor, and the pursuit of pleasure.
VENUS in CAPRICORN
These individuals are apt to exhibit the restrictive influence of Capricorn in dealing with romantic entanglements. Nor can their social attitudes and behavior be described as very glib or spontaneous. Though it may not be their intention to do so, they may appear brusque or abrupt when dealing with those they do not know well. In spite of this, most of them enjoy social gatherings. A cautious nature makes them feel more comfortable in relationships and social situations that are formal, purposeful, and to some extent, calculated. This type of approach helps remove the possibility of personal rejection which is something they wish to avoid at all costs. No matter how easy-going or strong their outer personality may appear, it is likely that underneath they may feel insecure. Consciously or subconsciously they want to make some practical use of their associations.
MARS
Mars rules physical energy and efforts. It describes the strength and direction of the physical force that drives your ego, fires your emotions, and encourages your mental endeavors and communicative skills. It describes male relationships and associations, risk-taking inclinations, and the physical challenges you are likely to encounter.
MARS in TAURUS
Individuals with natal Mars in Taurus are not likely to waste their time or efforts. Whatever they seek to accomplish or to acquire is consciously or subconsciously linked to satisfying a need for personal security. For most of them, it is usually in the form of money or other material assets. Even those who do not seek to amass material wealth become discouraged if their efforts and activities do not result in gaining some goal or tangible reward. Physical pleasures are often the object of their energetic pursuits. The Taurean influence gives these individuals patience and determination, and is also an indication of artistic skills. They are likely to possess great physical strength and stamina, or at least have the capacity to develop them.
JUPITER
Jupiter rules your potential for growth and expansion on many levels; physical, intellectual, spiritual, cultural, and the accumulation of material assets, power, and status. It describes your optimism and aspirations. It represents your father and his position in society.
JUPITER in PISCES
The personal growth and expansion of individuals with natal Jupiter in Pisces is often dependent on their ability to make prudent choices that place them in positions of emotional strength. Emotional sensitivity implies deep spirituality, artistic talent or psychic ability. It can also mean emotional dependency, which in turn, results in reliance on addictive substances. Their optimism can take a wide variety of forms, from those who exhibit risk-taking behavior that amounts to a death wish to those who possess the instincts and capabilities of a successful commodities trader.
SATURN
Saturn rules responsibilities, restrictions and limitations you are apt to encounter, and the lessons you must learn in life. It does not deny or diminish imagination, inspiration, spirituality, and good fortune but it does demand that these things be given structure and meaning.
SATURN in VIRGO
Individuals with natal Saturn in Virgo are confronted with restrictions or limitations that involve matters of practicality or perfectionism. Too much pragmatism leaves no room for imagination or spiritual growth. Lack of practicality denies the solid base they need for progress and stability. Blind pursuit of perfectionism denies the reality of life, and they accomplish nothing. Lack of idealism ends in mediocrity.
URANUS
Uranus rules personal as well as societal freedom. It indicates originality of thought and expression. In society it rules radical ideas and people as well as revolutionary events that upset established structures. Uranus takes approximately seven years to transit one sign, taking about 84 years to complete all twelve signs. Since groups of people with Uranus in the same sign are separated by 84 years, the influence of this planet in a sign is generational. The personal implications of Uranus in your life are described by its house position and the aspects it makes with other planets in your natal chart. It describes areas of unpredictability, and where you or your life style may be different than those around you. It relates to the unusual or unique. Friends and associations to which you belong are also indicated, as is your potential involvement with science and technology, computers, and the media.
URANUS in AQUARIUS
The generation of individuals born with natal Uranus in Aquarius deal with emancipation and independence. They seek to overcome restrictions imposed by traditional institutions and concepts. Individuals and institutions that fail to make changes to accommodate the new wave will be discarded. However, that which is perceived as having enduring value will be treasured and uplifted to new heights.
NEPTUNE
Neptune rules those who are oppressed or abandoned; the misfits of society. On a higher level it rules visionaries, and those who are glamorous and charismatic. It represents spirituality, mysticism, and ideals. Neptune is in one sign for approximately thirteen years, taking about 164 years to complete its cycle through all twelve signs. Since 164 years separate people born during its transit of one sign and those born when it returns, Neptune's significance in any sign is described as generational or historical. On a personal level, Neptune's house position and the aspects it makes with other planets in your natal chart will describe spirituality, abstract thinking, illusion, disillusionment, and other areas of your life where things aren't always what they seem. It rules derangement, guilt, persecution, and describes the potential for experiences related to confinement, abandonment, and addiction or physical intolerance to drugs.
NEPTUNE in CAPRICORN
Neptune's last period in Capricorn was 1820-1834 and its current transit is 1984 -1998. Capricorn rules conservatism and Neptune brings extremist tendencies. The 1800's witnessed the "era of Metternich, " the powerful, very conservative Austrian statesman. Conservative tendencies in France were accentuated when Charles X gained the throne. In Great Britain the conservative Tory faction maintained control. The conservative mood in America under Ronald Reagan and continuing under George Bush is evidence of the present influence of Neptune in Capricorn.
PLUTO
Pluto takes approximately 248 years to make one cycle through all twelve signs. The period Pluto spends in each sign can vary from twelve years to thirty two years due to the eccentricity of its orbit. Like atomic energy (a force ruled by Pluto), the presence and direction of Pluto's energy are never obvious until it is used. Pluto's influence in any sign is interpreted as generational or historical. In your personal life, Pluto's significance is interpreted from its house position and the aspects it makes to other natal planets in your horoscope. Pluto rules intense energy, and describes the areas in which you consciously or subconsciously seek to exercise power or control. Pluto is also linked to your karmic responsibility, and in this respect, it describes the areas where you must gain the deepest level of understanding.
PLUTO in ARIES
Pluto's last period in Aries was 1822-1851. Introducing a new cycle of actions and reactions, Pluto's transit in Aries witnessed many revolutions in Europe as liberal forces reacted to the repression of the conservatives. In America, pioneering men and women fearlessly moved westward to create a civilization in the wilderness.
PART TWO: THE OUTER YOU
In Part Two you will read about the twelve houses of the horoscope. The houses represent areas of life in which you operate on a daily basis. You will read descriptions of how you handle the circumstances you encounter in each of these areas, according to your nature, personality and other traits as they are outlined in Part One.
HOUSE 1
The first house and the sign that rules the first house, which is also known as the Ascendant or Rising sign, describes your outer personality and physical attributes. To some extent it also describes your health and the type of illnesses you may experience.
VIRGO ASCENDANT
A Virgo Ascendant indicates the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and different people. The willingness of these individuals to adapt however, is invariably accompanied by a word or two of complaint. Nowhere is the critical facility associated with Virgo more observable than when this sign rules the Ascendant. Always seeking perfection, they find it difficult to accept situations or people as they are. Even if they criticize without totally realizing what they are doing, or without meaning to be harsh, they must learn to be more sensitive and restrict their passion for constantly finding fault. Virgo indicates that practicality and conservatism are prominent characteristics. Though they may be inhibited by flamboyant displays of affection and act excessively puritanical in public, they can nevertheless be quite sensual and sexually-oriented in private. A contradiction in their personalities is that they can be totally organized and attentive to details in some areas, while at the same time be appallingly disorganized and sloppy in other areas. Another potential trait is a proclivity for being health conscious. If their natal sun or moon is in one of the Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces) or in Capricorn (which tends toward excessive worry), their concern with health can extend to the point of hypochondria.
Virgo is ruled by Mercury, planet of communication and mental processes. If intimidating factors in their individual personalities are not present to subdue the tendency, they are likely to be extremely talkative and prone to gossip. They are endlessly curious about everything that goes on in their immediate environment, and at times, they may seem to be everywhere at once. Ideas and projects seem to take up every waking moment. Not only do they desire to collect and communicate their own ideas and information, they effortlessly attract information and news from everyone else as well. They readily absorb stores of information that they are happy to share with anyone who takes the time to listen. Many Virgo Ascendant people are super salesmen, efficient negotiators, and eager travelers. They like to keep busy and useful. Sitting around doing nothing makes them nervous and irritable. They enjoy collecting recipes, postage stamps, and medical remedies. Respiratory illnesses, nervousness, and allergies are apt to be common physical complaints.
SATURN in 1st HOUSE
For those with Saturn in the first house, the biggest lessons in life involve self image. It doesn't matter what circumstances life presents the biggest challenge for these individuals is always themselves. Saturn indicates difficult circumstances surrounding birth and the early years of life. Whatever their childhood was like, these individuals are consciously or subconsciously disappointed by it and with themselves as well. Such inner negativity may result in their denying themselves any personal success or happiness, or they may completely abandon themselves to pleasure and other indulgences as a form of self-destruction. They feel they are unworthy, unattractive and undesirable, no matter what the mirror reflects or what others may tell them. At every turn they are confronted by their own fears and insecurities. How well they learn to deal with such personal conflict becomes a mark of their strength and success as an adult. Saturn in the first house may indicate inner turmoil but by no means does it indicate a somber or colorless personality. On the contrary, these individuals usually overcompensate by developing a cheerful demeanor. They are quite willing to accept hardship and responsibilities, which in most cases, they feel they were born to endure.
SATURN trine NEPTUNE
Saturn trine Neptune is a generational aspect that indicates widespread and generous public support for cultural establishments and artistic groups and organizations. There is increased tolerance for minority groups and renewed interest and support for handicapped, underprivileged and institutionalized people. Individuals born in this generation are apt to have careers or private activities that are involved in these areas.
HOUSE 2
The second house describes material assets, how you handle monetary income, and the potential ways it may be earned. It also indicates the values and priorities you establish throughout life.
LIBRA on 2nd HOUSE
Libra ruling the second house indicates individuals who are especially fond of personal pleasures and the beautiful things that wealth can supply. To attain these things they are apt to make full use of their personal charm and physical attractiveness. To them it seems a fair trade. It is possible that their income is derived from modeling, hairdressing and related services, cosmetics manufacture and sales, fashion and beauty consulting. They may be involved in such other Libra-ruled areas as law, art, music, jewelry or the world of fashion and design. The negative potential of Libra's influence can mean those who are not able enjoy anything or anyone. Though the second house Libra influence implies they value wealth and beauty, they also put great value on relationships. Their sense of well-being and security is enhanced when they are surrounded with beautiful things, an attractive, peaceful environment, and people they like. Unless there are negative elements in their personalities, they are not greedy, and those fortunate enough to have wealth, balance their abundant assets by philanthropic donations.
HOUSE 3
The third house describes your mental state, intellectual orientation, self-expression and communication, early education, mechanical dexterity and skills, immediate environment (neighborhood), and siblings. It indicates physical actions, and transportation, especially within your immediate environment. To a certain extent the third house also describes the job or health of your father.
SCORPIo on 3rd HOUSE
Scorpio ruling the third house indicates individuals with intense powers of concentration. It is not a certain indication they will strive for scholarship, but whatever stimulates them mentally will receive their undivided attention. They are keen observers and miss very little of what goes on in their immediate environments. Scorpio's influence on the third house is no guarantee they will have a true understanding of what they observe. They can, for example, describe in great detail the facts of what they have seen or heard but may or may not really grasp what these facts may signify. Such understanding requires the cooperation of other factors in their individual personalities. They have a tendency to consciously or subconsciously regard information as useful only in terms of the power it gives them over others. The old saying "mind over matter" is particularly true with them. Though they may not choose to develop it, they have remarkable mental ability to persuade themselves (and others as well) that something is true whether it is nor not. They love secrets and intrigue, and are very interested in the mysteries of nature and the mechanisms by which things are able to function.
SUN in 3rd HOUSE
Sun in the third house indicates those who assert themselves through their thoughts and ideas, though it does not necessarily mean that they seek a public forum in which to express themselves. Much depends on their individual personality and background. Some are content with merely keeping personal diaries. Others find adequate self-expression through artistic endeavors. The sun's influence in the third house indicates creativity and enthusiasm in communication, and, in some individuals, a definite tendency for theatrics and the use of hyperbole. Outgoing or introverted, they are all communication-oriented. Avid letter-writers, constantly on the telephone, or engaging in one meeting or another, these individuals are in continuous contact and interaction with others. They usually possess mechanical, design, or computer skills, as well as the enthusiasm to develop and use them.
SUN trine PLUTO
Sun trine Pluto indicates those able to take advantage of fortunate circumstances when they occur because they just happen to have the right thing, know the right people, or happen to be in the right place at the right time. Whatever assets and resources are at their disposal they will use to great advantage. They may have very little trouble attracting the help of powerful people or gaining positions of power or control for themselves.
HOUSE 4
The fourth house describes your residence, domestic environment, and family members, especially your mother. It indicates the beginning as well as the end of various cycles in your life.
SAGITTARIUS on 4th HOUSE
Sagittarius ruling the fourth house indicates individuals likely to be raised in environments that emphasize religion, education, or cultural pursuits. The negative potential of Sagittarius ruling the fourth house can mean either total deprivation of, or overemphasis in one of the areas described above. They may, for example, suffer from having experienced too much concentration on material wealth or social status and not enough attention paid to developing personal character and relationships. It can mean too much religious emphasis at the expense of educational, cultural pursuits, or even physical joys. In the matter of discipline there is hardly room for middle ground, either these individuals receive little or no discipline, or, there is too much of it. On the positive side, this influence suggests individuals whose intellects, talents and skills were encouraged throughout their childhood and development. There is potential that they were born or reside in a foreign country, their parents are of foreign birth, or more than one language is spoken in their home.
MERCURY in 4th HOUSE
Mercury in the fourth house indicates those who prefer to work at home as bookkeepers, writers, researchers, and teachers. They are apt to have a sizable collection of books, magazines, and other written material in their home. If they happen to be more mechanically inclined than intellectually oriented, their home becomes the repository of an array of mechanical devices. Many possess artistic and mechanical skills that enable them to make household repairs and do some impressive interior decorating. They may end up living with a sibling or in the same neighborhood as their siblings. They don't mind allowing their home to be used for community meetings or other neighborhood projects. Negative factors in their personality or background can mean argument or separation from siblings as well as estrangement and disagreement with neighbors. A restless nature indicates many changes of residence, frequent alterations to their residence, or more than one residence at a time. They may be involved in buying or selling real estate, or some aspect of that business.
MERCURY square SATURN
There is no lack of intelligence in those with Mercury square Saturn, but there may be some restriction or inhibition concerning self expression. They may cling to outmoded principles or be too dictatorial in communicating thoughts and ideas. They may suffer from lack of imagination or the means to express it. Mechanical skills can desert them at times, and care should be taken when operating machinery.
VENUS in 4th HOUSE
Venus in the fourth house indicates those who feel more sociable and romantic when in the comfort of their own home, and as a result enjoy entertaining in this environment. They seek to make their home beautiful and harmonious. Books, art, and music play prominent roles in their home decor as well as their activities. They may enjoy presenting musical programs at home or extend the hospitality of their home to literary or art organizations. They may be involved in real estate, architecture, interior or landscape design. Those with culinary skills prepare and present dishes that are as beautiful to look at as they are to eat. These individuals may come from a wealthy or luxurious background. There is potential for inheritance from the mother or mother's side of the family. Venus also suggests they are apt to find a marriage partner in their home town. Negative factors in their personality or background can mean lack of ability to enjoy home or domestic life. These individuals may only use home as a place to camp out, when they bother to come home at all. It can also indicate difficult relationships with parents and other family members.
VENUS square PLUTO
The implication of Venus square Pluto is that these individuals will pay a price for their relationships. No matter how easy or exciting relationships start out, they invariably come to include manipulation and power plays. If these individuals fail to cooperate with the manipulations of others or they seek to gain too much control themselves, the only alternative may be utter loneliness. Much, however, will be gained if they learn to minimize their own need for control and tactfully sidestep others who try to exert control.
HOUSE 5
The fifth house describes your creative talent and imaginative powers, capacity for enjoyment and the pursuit of pleasure, romance, children, and speculative ventures.
CAPRICORN on 5th HOUSE
Capricorn ruling the fifth house indicates individuals who may experience heavy responsibilities connected with children. Depending on other factors in their individual personalities, they may take a naturally responsible attitude toward children, placing them first in all things. Some may not care to accept parental responsibilities but will be forced to confront them, due to death or separation from their spouses or some other circumstance. Capricorn does not mean lack of offspring, though it implies they may be few in number. It also indicates that relationships with young children tend to be formal or somber. However, as the children mature, relationships with them are apt to become more satisfying. Romantic encounters are seldom purely pleasurable since inhibitory elements are sure to enter the picture. They may have a tendency to become romantically involved with older individuals. Since romance is what leads to marriage, these individuals may have difficulty finding a suitable marriage partner. Self-indulgence or hedonistic pursuits are penalized. Though success is not denied, speculative ventures must be approached cautiously. Good luck must never be taken for granted, and the best philosophy may be "take the money and run. " Creative talent may be too structured or frustrated but there is also potential that it will be developed properly and handled wisely.
NEPTUNE in 5th HOUSE
Neptune in the fifth house indicates those who experience certain elements of illusion, confusion, or mystery connected with romance, children, speculative ventures, social activities, the pursuit of pleasure, and artistic or creative projects. These individuals may find romance with dancers, artists or those involved with religion or the occult. It also suggests that their children and/or lovers have artistic talent, psychic ability, or that they are very spiritual. Love is blind is an apt description for those with a fifth house Neptune. The negative potential includes deception in romance, or a romantic partner who is confined, disabled, or addicted to drugs. Other Neptune potentials include those who adopt or care for a child who is not their own. Their children may suffer from mental confusion, physical disability, or adverse reaction to drugs. There is also implication of the loss of a child or lover. These individuals may possess remarkable intuition in speculative ventures. However, since deception and loss are also possible, they should never take good fortune for granted or risk anything they cannot afford to lose. Neptune's influence suggests fondness for dance, theater, and art. When it comes to evaluating their own talent in these areas, they may have to rely on the opinion of others since their own judgment (whether it is positive or negative) may be clouded or unrealistic. In the pursuit of pleasure, they may become dangerously overindulgent. Vacations should be taken on or near water, especially the ocean.
URANUS in 5th HOUSE
Uranus in the fifth house indicates those who may form unusual or unexpected romantic attachments, or encounter romance in unexpected places. Romance may begin or end suddenly or unexpectedly. The influence of Uranus also suggests those who possess highly unique artistic or creative talent. It is also possible that the children of these individuals may be quite unusual or distinguished in some way. Women with Uranus in the fifth house may have difficulty conceiving children. They may choose not to bear children at all, preferring to concentrate their creative energies elsewhere. Other potentials include those who seek unusual amusements, and those who enjoy taking very unique vacations or vacation in off-beat, interesting places. These individuals may devise unusual methods for gambling or speculation.
HOUSE 6
The sixth house describes your job, daily responsibilities (paid and unpaid), and those who work for or with you. It also represents your health, and physical fitness.
AQUARIUS on 6th HOUSE
Aquarius ruling the sixth house indicates those with the need for working environments that allow maximum independence. The ideal situation is to work for themselves, but if that isn't possible, the next best thing are jobs that let them select their own schedule, and work unsupervised at their own pace. It can be difficult to sit still for long periods or be saddled with repetitive, uninteresting assignments. If they have worked for a while and the challenge the work initially presented is no longer present, they either quit and go on to something else, or find ways of altering tasks to make the job more exciting. There is the likelihood of many job changes. Some changes will be unexpected and abrupt, but they are also just as liable to initiate the changes out of boredom and restlessness. Many of them never work at so-called regular jobs, and many are attracted to very unusual types of work. The influence of Aquarius implies the possibility of erratic health and a tendency for nervous conditions. These individuals may adopt some unorthodox methods of health and physical fitness, or at least very interested in learning about such unorthodox approaches.
MOON in 6th HOUSE
Moon in the sixth house indicates vulnerability to a continuing variety of medical complaints, especially stomach or digestive disorders. The ailments of these individuals are usually not major threats but can disrupt their work and routine schedules. They are apt to operate a business from their home, or seek jobs related to homes, food, family life, women, or children. They develop mothering instincts and other strong emotional identification toward those who work for or with them. They may work better with women than with men. Work habits may be inconsistent as is their ability to stay in jobs. Their general health and psychological outlook are strongly affected by their work, and when the work environment or responsibilities are upsetting for some reason, inefficiency and absences are the result.
MOON sextile MERCURY
Moon sextile Mercury indicates those who seek to make use not only of their own thoughts and ideas but those of others as well. In others words, they want to put theories into practical application. Communication with siblings and neighbors and participation in community activities are not merely pastimes, they are valuable opportunities through which these individuals achieve personal progress and emotional growth.
MOON square MARS
Moon square Mars indicates those who usually succeed because of their energetic and tireless perseverance. If they try ten things, maybe only one will work, but in the end that one thing will be what matters. They are inclined to aggressiveness and even rudeness, quick temper, and the inclination to be too hasty in judgments, allowing their emotions to overrule logical thought. Once they control haste, anger or impatience, their physical and emotional energy begins to work for them and not against them, and they accomplish everything they set out to do.
MOON conjunct URANUS
Moon conjunct Uranus indicates those with restless, nervous, or impatient dispositions. It is difficult for them to truly relax. Their emotions are changeable, which makes it hard to predict how they feel about situations from one time to another. They may develop unusual emotional attachments or relationships, and will not tolerate having their feelings dictated to them, even by those they love. They are apt to have ingenious, imaginative minds, though they may be too easily distracted.
HOUSE 7
The seventh house relates to marriage and partnership or joint ventures of any kind. It describes how you interact with people and how others tend to regard you. The seventh house is associated with legal matters, negotiations, contracts, and all open confrontations, pleasant as well as adversarial.
PISCES on 7th HOUSE
Pisces ruling the seventh house indicates those who may have a hard time being understood by others. Something about these individuals may seem glamorous, illusive or mysterious to others, but their true personalities, physical appearances, or actions are apt to be difficult for others to understand, clearly recognize or accurately describe. They may, for example, be seen as being quite different in appearance by the same people from one time to another, even though they have done nothing to alter their looks. There may be untimely loss of a partner, or marriage to someone less fortunate than themselves. Their marriage partners may be emotionally disturbed, disabled, from a minority group, or addicted to habit-forming substances. On the positive side, their marriage partners may have considerable artistic talent as well as highly developed intuitions. There is possibility for deception as well as unrealistic expectations in marriage, though there is no certainty about which partner will be the one at fault. They may establish highly spiritual or psychically sensitive associations.
JUPITER in 7th HOUSE
Jupiter in the seventh house indicates those whose marriage and business partnerships require a certain amount of independence. Their alliances cannot be bogged down with possessiveness or emotional dependency. Marriage, joint ventures, and partnership with others is likely to broaden their intellectual horizon, increase their economic or social status, and expand their life-style. Their marriage or business partner may tend to propose big ideas and grandiose schemes, and/or be physically above average in size. These individuals may be regarded by others as scholarly, influential, generous, or spiritual, sometimes without much justification for such opinions. Females with seventh house Jupiter often marry men that resemble or characterize their father. The negative potential includes those who marry solely to improve their wealth or status, and those who take their partner too much for granted.
JUPITER opposite SATURN
Jupiter opposite Saturn implies difficult times but it is a generational aspect. Society is continually presented with alternate situations in which there is either too much or too little, feast or famine, as the saying goes. There seems no middle ground and no way to escape this influence other than acceptance and dealing with it in the best way possible. Those with wisdom and fortitude use the seasons of plenty to save for the seasons of deprivation.
PLUTO in 7th HOUSE
Pluto in the seventh house indicates those who feel compelled to control and manipulate relationships. If they happen to have an aggressive nature, they are compelled to interfere with other peoples' relationships as well as their own, not always with happy results. The negative potential includes those who are victims of manipulation by others including their marriage partner. Pluto's influence in the seventh house suggests individuals who consciously or subconsciously want to gain the first advantage where other people are concerned. They do not have a strong sense of cooperation or fair play unless factors in their personality or background encourage them to develop a more even-handed approach in dealing with others. Pluto does, however, imply justice in the form of eventual retribution. Sooner or later, they are likely to get what they deserve, both good and bad. Whether or not they make a conscious effort to do so, they attract people who are intellectually superior or who have more power or status than themselves. Other potentials include those for whom marriage becomes a continual contest of wills, and joint ventures or other cooperative efforts turn into power struggles.
HOUSE 8
The eighth house is related to taxes, debt, death, legacies, and the income you receive through marriage or business partner(s). It describes your resourcefulness, and your ability to develop and use material assets as well as personal skills and abilities. The eighth house also indicates sexual attitudes and behavior.
ARIES on 8th HOUSE
Aries ruling the eighth house is an indication of individuals with intense energy and vitality when they choose to focus it. Other factors in the rest of their individual natal charts will have to suggest the particular areas where they are likely to concentrate their energy, but it is highly probable these areas will include sexual and financial matters, and research in psychological or occult subjects. They are apt to be quite clever and resourceful, with special talent for decorating, remodeling and renovations of all kinds. Aries influencing the eighth house may be demonstrated by their interest and ability in financial speculations and managing joint finances or corporate funds. Either their, or their marriage partner's income may be connected with insurance (especially fire insurance), funding for new development and research, or the sale, manufacture, or handling of weapons or surgical equipment.
HOUSE 9
The ninth house describes higher education, advanced training, publishing, publicity, advertising, politics, foreign travel, foreign studies, religious and philosophical views and activities, and cultural pursuits. It relates to court decisions, a second marriage, and in-laws. To a certain extent the ninth house also describes the job or health of your mother.
TAURUS on 9th HOUSE
Taurus ruling the ninth house indicates the likelihood of individuals who are culturally oriented, spiritually inspired, or philosophically and intellectually disposed. They tend to think of themselves as citizens of the world, even if they do not have the opportunity or inclinations to go abroad. A Taurus influence also suggests they may become judges, legislators, politicians, clerics, teachers, musicians, artists, diplomats, or, they may work in advertising, writing or broadcasting. They are apt to possess strong intellectual curiosity about other people. They may also develop idealistic or impractical notions regarding religion and social structures. However, many of them are able to strike a balance between ideals and practical reality. There is potential for romance or marriage while in a foreign country or with a person of a different race or culture. Negative possibilities include individuals with antisocial, prejudicial attitudes, or, those who have difficulty with in-laws, or experience unfavorable court judgments.
MARS in 9th HOUSE
Mars in the ninth house indicates those who concentrate much energy and vitality on higher education or specialized training. Politics, sports, philosophy, art, religion, sociology, music, publishing, foreign studies and travel are likely to attract them. Even though they may not be involved professionally, they are likely to pursue some type of active involvement in one of these areas. Mars in the ninth house also indicates those who are lawyers, judges, or spokespersons, and those who work in direct mail, advertising or broadcasting. Home may be where their heart is, but not necessarily where their many and varied interests take them. They spend more time running around than they do at home. Negative factors in their personality or background can mean those who become frantic in their actions and fanatically zealous about ideas. It also signifies problems related to higher education, unfavorable court decisions, or disagreements with in-laws. The positive influence of Mars suggests individuals with a lively, risk-taking nature that urges them to constantly seek higher levels of understanding, and new adventures and experiences beyond their immediate environment.
MARS trine SATURN
Those with Mars trine Saturn are apt to have the good fortune to be taken care of or given valuable assistance by older people or those in authority. Saturn's influence is rarely subtle and attempts at self promotion may be transparent, but the implication here is that their ploys are usually tolerated. This is a survival aspect and no matter the hardships imposed, these individuals usually manage to cope better than most.
MARS trine NEPTUNE
Even if they possess a harder side more in tune with reality, there is also a certain mellow, philosophical, or spiritual sense in how they think and conduct themselves. They are attracted to people and situations that appear glamorous, sensuous, or uplifting in one way or another. Artistically talented with astute intuitions, they often have the good fortune to be in the right place at the right time and know exactly what to do, or as the case may be, what not to do.
HOUSE 10
The tenth house describes your career and other long-range goals, public reputation, superiors and those in authority. It also relates to your father and his influence in your life.
GEMINI on 10th HOUSE
Gemini ruling the tenth house indicates the likelihood of individuals who want their thoughts and ideas conveyed to the public. Even if they don't necessarily seek the spotlight, they want a public forum in which to communicate their thoughts or put their ideas into public practice. They may do this, for example, by writing speeches for others or becoming city planners and engineers. They enjoy carrying on mental pursuits in some public place, or in a public manner, like chess matches in a park or writing letters to the editors of newspapers. A tenth house Gemini influence is also an indication of those who have more than one career, or that there is something of a dual-natured quality connected with what they do. The negative potential includes individuals who have difficulty communicating with their father and other authority figures, or difficulty expressing themselves in public.
HOUSE 11
The eleventh house rules friendships, organizations to which you belong, and income derived from self-employment or career (as opposed to wages earned from a job). It relates to the role you play in the lives of others as child, parent, lover, spouse, friend, social or business associate. The eleventh house also describes your hopes and aspirations and capacity for happiness.
CANCER on 11th HOUSE
Cancer ruling the eleventh house indicates the likelihood of individuals who develop strong emotional identifications with friends and associates. Whether they attract a lot of friends or even go out of their way to retain friendships is not the point here. In spite of the emotional identification, their friendships are not necessarily long-lived unless other factors in their personality support the willingness to accept responsibilities connected with maintaining relationships. They may have one friend or hundreds, but their emotional identification with them plays a major role in how they perceive themselves. There is a strong nurturing element associated with friends which can sometimes be a wonderful inspiration, and at other times cause jealousy and possessiveness to creep into relationships. The aspirations they develop throughout life can be so changeable it is difficult for them to establish definite commitments and long-range goals. Those who do successfully accomplish their goals often do so with the strong assistance or guidance from friends.
HOUSE 12
The twelfth house describes the private and hidden side of life; your subconscious mind, dreams, the past, and those who wish you harm or work against your interests. The twelfth house relates to sorrow, disappointment, loss, solitude or confinement, hidden fears and worry. It also has connection with the job or health of your marriage or business partner.
LEO on 12th HOUSE
Leo ruling the twelfth house indicates individuals whose true egos are not apt to be easily observed by others. In fact, it may be a determined effort on their part to hide any side of their natures that seems selfish or too egotistical. Those who are close to them will know what situations and whom they try to manipulate, but to the outside world, these attitudes and behavior will not be so readily discernible. Things that give them true satisfaction, and indeed may contribute the most to their personal growth, are the private acts they do for those less fortunate than themselves. If they develop interest in the occult, the subconscious or dreams it will only be as a result of their being convinced of the personal power that is to be gained, otherwise such matters are ignored in the belief that they are a waste of time. Those individuals who do gain knowledge of the occult or paranormal subjects are apt to want to demonstrate and apply their knowledge and skills in public. This influence of Leo also suggests that false pride is likely to compel them to hide their private losses and sorrow. The act of revealing what hurts or bothers them can seem just as painful or as much of a loss as whatever it was that caused the unhappiness.
