John Cusack is a true child of the 1960s, not only because he was born in 1966 with that revolutionary Uranus-Pluto conjunction, but because his parents were both politically, intellectually, and artistically involved with the themes that inspired higher consciousness then and still do today. His decidedly anti-Bush politics are no surprise, regardless of his chart, though that might increasingly be said about anyone lately.

Actually, he’s got a relatively inwardly inclined chart, as only his Leo Mercury is in fire (but with no exact time, we don’t know his Ascendant), though supported strongly by an out-of-sign trine from last-degree Pisces Saturn. Don’t argue with this man, he probably knows more than you do and is kind enough not to impose it on you. And, since Saturn leads his locomotive-pattern chart, he’s inclined to keep things down to a bare minimum and private at that (he fiercely guards his family’s personal seclusion from publicity). Unless, of course, you’re at a Chicago baseball game, where you’re likely to find him leading the cheering section for the Cubs.

As his parts have gotten heavier over the years, this Saturn is increasingly felt as a supportive, modulating factor, as it went retro by progression when he was thirteen, so it will never get to Aries. And, that Moon-Neptune conjunction in Scorpio always keeps his rather mysterious emotional cards held close to his chest. As dry as he can be sometimes, don’t forget he’s got both Lights in water of the most inward kind.

Current events: Expect that watery trend to develop further, as his progressed Mercury has just backed into Cancer, so his one fire planet has now evolved backwards into the sea, so to speak, like whales and dolphins did, so expect to see him not only playing for the feeling but articulating the emotional message over the inspirational approach. He’s at his Uranus opposition now, so he’ll increasingly be a lot freer to go where he wants and, occasionally, be as cranky as he feels like.
