Chelsea Clinton
by John Townley
Chelsea Clinton is not a pop star, at least not yet, so you can’t critique her chart like you would Britney Spears. And since she’s on a fairly normal growing up and getting educated track like the rest of the world, what you have to look at is potential, along with where she comes from and what she’s inherited.
So, OK, she’s got Scorpio rising just like her mom — her Ascendant is the same degree as Hillary’s Venus, so she’s the apple of her mom’s eye — and a Leo Moon echoing her Leo-Sun dad. Her Sun in Pisces reflects her mom’s Moon in that sign, and enthusiastic Mars conjunct Jupiter has a little bit of her dad in it as well. But she entirely lacks the more slippery and scheming side of either, whether it’s Bill’s Mars conjunction Neptune or Hillary’s 12th house Scorpio planets. She doesn’t advertise her wares, with Scorpio rising, and with Mercury opposite Saturn she’s quite cautious about what she says, partly because she’s worried about getting it wrong. And curiously, she can’t be full of hot air (like so many politicians) because she really has no air, except for generational Pluto. She just plays it like it lays and doesn’t feel compelled to explain things — though a lack of air may attract her to a mate that overdoes the talk thing.
Current events: Transiting Saturn is sitting on her Mars-Jupiter for the first half of this year, so that means all work and no play until after the elections, during which time progressed Moon will have hit her MC, Mars, and headed into Virgo to join her Jupiter in the following year. Expect her to quietly campaign for the Democrats until the elections are over, after which she’ll decide (or events will decide for her) what brand-new direction (Jupiter) she’s going to take, in what will likely be a long and considered career in ways that reflect but carefully avoid imitating her parents.
