Steve Wozniak
by John Townley
“Other Steve” Wozniak (meaning not Steve Jobs) was co-founder of Apple Computer and that was really all he had to do to make a mark on history. With Mars at the very first degree of Scorpio, his work (Mars) is put in at the beginning, but his presence (Ascendant) is in the last degree of Virgo, so he’ll hang around until the end, which he is still doing as an Apple employee but long since not its mover-and-shaker anymore. That mantle has fallen to Steve Jobs, who has a splash-pattern chart which keeps him moving all over the place making sure that Apple is up with the times, and ahead of them.
Wozniak’s chart pattern, however, is a bucket, with Jupiter for a handle, so thinking big and future was and still is his forte, as he reveals in his latest interview. Further, the leading planet of the bucket is not surprisingly Uranus, planet of technology, so he was bound to be in there first with the most. And with the South Node right on his Ascendant, he was gifted not only with doing it but also with getting the credit for it, too, something that doesn’t always happen in the evolution of technology (interlopers often get the profit, like Alexander Graham Bell, who didn’t first invent the phone, or Morse, who didn’t invent the wireless, but both are so credited in America at least).
But constant corporate reinvention was never Wozniak’s style, not surprising with Mercury (planning) and structure (Saturn) firmly ensconced in his hidden 12th house, better suited for squirreling himself away and programming. So, unlike some, he decided he didn’t like it and quit while he was ahead. With Pluto conjunct and rising ahead of the Sun, he never hesitated, and has never regretted it. That was doubly fortuitous, as his only air planet is generational Neptune in Libra, which makes techno-vision and inspiration come easy but constant application more difficult. Not so Jobs, whose Aquarius Mercury is exactly on his Ascendant but whose Moon was exactly on Wozniak’s descendant, making them perfect startup partners.
Current events: There’s more bubbling under than meets the placid surface, by progression at least. Over the next two years his progressed Mercury will hit his Ascendant, bringing out new inventions into plain view, and his progressed Sun hits his Neptune, more dreams finding the sudden power to have liftoff. He’s wisely not letting on, but maybe there is something more lurking in your future fueled by the ever-inventive, ever-creative brain of “TheWizard of Woz.”
